TERRY AVENUE BUILDING, CUOCO & BRAVE HORSE TAVERN

Location:  South Lake Union - Seattle, Washington
Type:  Commercial

The Terry Avenue Building, constructed in 1915, hosts three restaurants for Tom Douglas.  The restaurants were designed by Graham Baba Architects, the shell/core by Callison.  The project has quickly become the heart of Amazon.com’s new campus and a destination in the South Lake Union neighborhood.  The revitalized architecture adds character and function to the plaza and office towers surrounding it.

Engaged by Tom Douglas to establish the character of the places, Graham Baba became a player in the coordination of the overall project.  Two eleven story office towers were constructed around the Terry Avenue Building at the same time as the retrofit of the historic 1915 brick structure, including the tenant improvements within.  An awareness of the needs of Amazon (the key tenant), Vulcan (the developer), GLY (the contractor),  and many subcontractors and consultants, as well as our own client, was key to the success of the project.
